Infrared light was first discovered by astronomer & scientist William Herschel in the 19th century.
Today infrared technology is finding increasing popularity in heating systems. There are many benefits to infrared, these include instant heat, energy cost savings as well as being more environmentally friendly compared to traditional convection heating technologies.
Infrared heaters can also be beneficial for suffers of Asthma and other similar health conditions. Infrared waves travel without disturbing the air or any pathogens in the room, such as dust.
How Does Infrared Work, Compared To More Traditional Convection Systems ?
Convection Heating
Warm air leaves the heater and travels upwards towards the ceiling warming the air at the top of the room.
Eventually the warm air will start to fill the room from the top down.
A persons body will not be heated evenly and it will take longer for the benefits to be felt.
Infrared Heating
Instead of the air being heated, infrared radation travels through the air until it reaches objects in the room i.e. furniture and people.
These infrared waves are then absorbed giving the feeling of warmth.
People feel the benefits of the warmth a lot faster with a more even heat distribution.
The Minnie which uses Victory’s popular HLW heaters utilise infrared technology to provide a lightweight & portable heating solution, suitable for both commercial and domestic use.
An IP66 version is also available, which will allow the unit to be used outdoors in places such as patios and marquees.
The Minnie is supplied with Victory’s 2kW gold lamp which lasts for a minimum of 7000 hours. These gold lamps are low glare, so will not be intrusive when in use.
The unit is easy to maintain and keep clean and as it uses infrared to provide heat, the unit provides silent operation.
The Minnie has a large coverage area thanks to a 45 degree tilt bracket and parabolic reflector, the benefit of these will be felt whether you are seated or standing.
